It was no hard yakka to drink this wine – ok – pun intended, with aromas of black cherries, white pepper and baking spices exhibiting flavours of dark chocolate and coffee. It has toasty oak characters, perfectly balanced tannin and a long clean finish. Excellent to drink now and will benefit with a few years cellaring.
In fact this wine is named after a tree on the vineyard called Xanthorrhoea Semiplana. thankfully, Yakka for short.
